On Saturday last, November 24th, Jim Martin-Sullivan, son of Evelyn and the late Joe Martin-Sullivan, Castletownbere married Alison Francis, from India, but who was living in Australia for the past number of years.  Friends and family traveled from Australia, Canada and London to be with Alison on her happy day as well as her school pal who is now residing in East Cork. Following Nuptial Mass & Blessings at the Church of the Incarnation, Frankfield, Douglas, a reception was held at The Maryborough House Hotel, also in Douglas for families and close friends.  Everyone danced and sang the night away to an excellent disco and karaoke, before the bride and groom were ushered from the room in the early hours of the morning to renditions of 'Simply the Best' and 'Congratulations'.  The happy couple are spending their honeymoon at Dromoland Castle.

Jim and Alison met in Los Angeles in the summer of 2000 when they were both holidaying there separately. They remained in contact with each other via telephone, internet and visits to each other since.   Alison, who visited Jim during the summer, fell in love with Ireland and with Cork also.  She has now given up her career in Australia to come to Cork where she and Jim will set up home together.  Congratulations to them both and every happiness for the future.
