Photo Exhibition

Billy Black proudly displays his artistic work taken over the years.

Local Man,  Billy Black held a very successful  exhibition of his work at the BIM Regional Training Centre at the end of last month.  A Photographer for  38 years, he has covered all events in Beara and indeed beyond during that time.  He has attended over 400 weddings and there are many homes in Beara with photos of his work to bring back memories of their special day.

People are his speciality and he captures them in all situations.  This was indeed evident in the display in the exhibition and he had a job in picking out what to show from the vast collection he has accummulated throughout the years.  A lot of the photographs were of long ago - in black and white and it was lovely to reminesce the moment he captured in the photo and to recall the people in the photo who were no longer with us.

The scenery he has captured throughout the peninsula was also very evident there.  He says that he takes colour photos of scenery during the Summer months and black and white prints during the winter time as it captures the setting better.

A huge crowd visited the exhibition, both local and visitor to the area.  Many people were delighted to either see a photo of themselves there or on speaking to Billy, was told that he had a photo that they specifically were looking for. There were prints that he would make copies of and sell on to anyone who wished it.
