K.D.Y.S. - YOUTH TALENT COMPETITION
FINAL AT KILLARNEY

Castletownbere was represented at this year's final of the Kerry Diocesan District Youth Service - with a dancing and singing group.  Over 40 different events were judged - from drama, solo instrumental, spotlight, group singing, dance, solo singing, comedy to duais na gaeilge.  There were 7 groups in each of the categories - dance & group singing - that the Castletownbere Club were participating in.

 Group Dancers who represented the Castletownbere Youth Club and came a very creditable second were: l-r Jennifer Power, Laura Harrington, Rachel Martin-Sulivan and Siobhán Murphy. They performed their own creation to 'Cotton Eye Joe'

The Group Singers who came third in their event were: l-r Caitriona O'Sullivan, Orla Horgan, Orla O'Connor and Sineád O'Dwyer (on Guitar), doing their performance of Carrigfergus.  Their second song was 'I Will Survive'.
