Cousins Celebrate their 21st Birthday
Last Saturday, 14th Sept. Julie Fitzgerald, West End,
Castletownbere celebrated her 21st birthday at her home with a bar-b-que - with
her many friends, family and neighbours - young and old. Weather could not have been
kinder - with sunshine in abundace and temperatures well into the 20's.
Kick off began at 3pm and ended sometime the following day. The garden was
decorated with bunting and numerous lights to keep the party going well into the
night. A specially erected 'marquee' was put up by Julie's dad Pat, to
house the disco gear. DJ Cro provided the entertainment with music from
the 60's, through to the present day. Fancy Dress was optional - but quite
a few turned up in full gear. 3 bar-b-ques were going non-stop and
beverages was flowing freely. One of Julie's surprises during the evening
was the arrival of her 2 friends who were working in Hawaii for the summer. Emma
Holland and Emer Fitzgerald arrived home a week early to partake in the
festivities - but kept it a secret from Julie.
A few short weeks ago, Sharon Martin-Sullivan, Church Gate,
Castletownbere, also celebrated her 21st with a monster bash in the recently
opened Forge Niteclub. Again she was joined by all her friends and family
and the fabulous food was supplied by Gemma Hunt of the Mariner
Restaurant. Here again, DJCro provided the entertainment and the floor
rocked until the wee hours of the morning.
Wishing both girls, cousins and best friends, the very best for
the future - may all their dreams come true.
