Ducksfoot Theatre is Hatched in Beara…
The first two meetings for Ducksfoot Theatre were held Sunday the 3rd and Monday the 4th of March in Castletownbere. Deborah Barber, Artistic Director and founder of the theatre, was pleased by the turnout to the meetings and the responses received. Ms. Barber, who moved permanently to Ireland from the United States last June, has an extensive background in Theatre at the professional, community and educational levels. She has directed over 25 productions, performed leading roles in over 40 plays, and taught Theatre Arts and Creative Writing during the last decade in and around Chicago. She is ready to start doing the same in Beara. “I want Ducksfoot Theatre to joyfully benefit its participants and the communities it serves. And I want people to have some well-directed fun.”
How does she plan on putting her desire into practice?
“I will be offering classes in Acting, Directing, Stage Craft, and Playwrighting, for all ages, beginning in the coming weeks.
