Talent Competition

On Friday night last at Tuosist,Co. Kerry, members of the Castletownbere, Eyeries and Tuosist Youth Clubs took part in a heat of the Youth Talent Competition 2002 - organised by the Kerry Diocesan Youth Service.
Numerous acts were performed including:
'Cowgirls' - made up of (l-r) Jennifer Power, Laura Harrington, Rachel
Martin-Sullivan and Siobhán Murphy who won the group dance category on the
night and go through to the Kerry Finals - to be held in the Gleneagle Hotel in
Killarney on 2nd February next. They performed their own version of 'line
dancing' with pop, irish and country thrown in for good measure to the tune of
'Cotton Eye Joe'.
Other winners from Beara include Katrióna O'Sullivan, Eyeries, Sinéad O'Dwyer, Castletownbere, Órla O'Connor, Allihies and Órla Horgan, who sang Carrigfergus and 'I Will Survive' and were victors of the group singing category.
Well done to all who participated and best of luck to everyone from Beara who will be competing in Kerry Finals next month.
