MARATHON MAN RUNS FOR ST. JOSEPH'S HOSPITAL, CASTLETOWNBERE

Edward Harrington.jpg (72774 bytes) Beara has once again shown its strong community spirit in the efforts of Edward Harrington, Derrymihan, son of Ted and Geraldine, who recently participated in the Dublin City Marathon.  Edward has been road running for the past few years and decided that the next step was the Marathon.

"I chose St. Joseph's as the Charity I think most deserving as it supports everyone in the Beara Region.  I had two grandfathers who had excellent care while they were patients there and I am grateful to all the staff for their help".
This fund-raising was a single handed effort and Edward raised 3,981.05 Euro for Castletownbere Community Hospital.  The patients and staff of the Hospital wish to thank Edward, his family and all who sponsored him.  The money will be spent on further enhancing the comfort of patients in the hospital.  First on the list is a specially designed armchair.
