Well, Riobard, you were right on about Bernie O'Sullivan....attended the Beara Banquet on Sunday in Boston and really enjoyed listening to Mr. O'Sullivan...he was a great speaker and told many funny and enjoyable stories and recited poems with great delivery and emotion without the use of any written notes whatsoever.......when he recited some of the lines regarding the great Beara footballs teams of years past, I was getting goosebumps and his poems
regarding Ireland and the influences of Irish Mothers were really touching and spoken from the heart....all in all, a very enjoyable evening and people came from New York, Washington and many distant parts to attend....I was speaking to a gentleman from Galway who is married to a lady from Beara and he said it always amazed him how people from Beara came together like that....he said he could never do it from where he came from......Bernie alluded to the same train of thought saying that maybe because Beara is so isolated and far removed, it makes them a special people....anyway saw a couple of photos of yourself (Riobard) from people who have met you while visiting and they all said how helpful you were to them as they traced their forebearers......one person I met there said he wasnt on the mailing list but got the message from you on this email list....keep up your fantastic work and again, you were right on target with Mr. O'Sullivan...I enjoyed him as much as i enjoyed your visit a few years ago...all the best, Pat o'Leary.
