The girls of Cahermore National School did the “Western Parish” proud when they became West Cork Sciath na Scól 7 aside champions at the recent finals in Dunmanway.  After a very good team performance they defeated Reenascreena N.S. by a convincing margin of 4-10 to 1-5.  Both goalies (Shona Murphy 1st half & Rebecca  2nd half) did very well.  In defence Emma Sugrue and especially Maureen Sullivan were solid.  Mid field was dominated by Fiona Grace (2-3) and was ably helped by Lisa O’Sullivan (3pts).  Christine O’Sullivan was very dangerous up front (2 goals) and Rosemary Murphy also got her name on the scoreboard.  Aoife McNally, Patsy Tyrrell, Marese Lowney, Stephaine O’Sullivan and Áine O’Sullivan all played their part coming on as substitutes.

The team was:

Shona Murphy Aoife McNally Rebecca Irwin
Patsy Tyrrell Marese Lowney Emma Sugrue
Maureen Sullivan Stephaine O’Sullivan Fiona Grace
