PARENTS ASSOCIATION

The extension to the primary school ‘Scoil an Chroí Ró Naofa’, Castletownbere is progressing very well with work going according to schedule. Because the Department of Education does not cover the cost of equipping the new play area, (see pictures below) the Parents Association, with the approval of the Board of Management, has undertaken the task of fundraising for this aspect of the project.

To date, with parents support, the Parents Association has gathered approximately €7,500 — about half the cost of the planned playground. To make up the balance they have launched a wider fundraising campaign.

Should anyone be interested in making a donation to this fund, they can do so by sending it to the Parents Association, c/o ‘Scoil an Chroí Ró Naofa’, Castletownbere, Co. Cork to lodging it to their A.I.B. bank account 93-62-78, Account No. 26308247.

As part of their fundraising campaign, they are also organising a 60s and 70s Disco scheduled for February 15th at the Forge Night Club. Tickets cost €10 each and are available from any Parents Association Committee Member or from the library.
