Kieran O'Driscoll,  pictured above with his grandson - also called Kieran (Higgins) in Montauk, New York, before he went on an angling trip.

Kieran O'Driscoll, Castletownbere, whose daughter Mairead is settled in the US and as a family they love to go rod fishing.  Kieran, went along also - a busman's holiday as it were.  Raymond Higgins, son in law, caught a 4 ft, 43 lb striped bass on one of their fishing trips off Shelter Island - see picture below and right.   Kieran jnr. seems to have fishing in his blood - 2 generations on - across the atlantic.  The fish was caught by rod and reel, live lining with porgies big_catch2.jpg (39715 bytes)
