The €1.7 million refurbishment and extension to Scoil an Chroi Ro Naofa, Castletownbere took place on Friday last. Mass was celebrated by the Bishop of Kerry Most Rev Bill Murphy who also blessed the school. The official opening was conducted by Minister for Agriculture and Food, Mr Joe Walsh T.D., Over 500 pupils, past pupils, and members of the local community gathered in sunshine and were entertained to  a concert performed by the Army Band of the 1^st Southern Brigade.
