A very special evening marked the end of a magnificent year for the
10 students & their year co-ordinator Noel O Sullivan
& Class Teacher Amy Barry Murphy, whose remarkable skill
& talents lead the students through a very significant year in
their personal development & education.
It was a very busy year packed with a wide variety of activities,
projects & experiences.
Activities included, Co-Organizing Christmas trade fair, Self
Defence, Horse Riding, Attending Career exhibitions, Writers Course,
ECDL,Local Studies project, French project, French Student exchange
& Work experience.
Participating received Certificates for courses attended during the
year, these included, Sailing, Food Safety, Drama, Conflict
resolution, Elementary First Aid, Sea Survival, Adventure
Sports(rockclimbing, Kayaking, Orienteering, Hillwalking) Form &
Fusion Design,Gaisce (the presidents award) Their VHF certificate
they will receive at a later date.
This years TY students will begin study for their Leaving Cert this
September with confidence & maturity, The personal strengths
they have had the opportunity to develop this past year, will
stand to them as they go on with their lives.

Transition Year is only as good as the effort &
participation the students & their teachers give to
it, 2004 TY at Beara Community School was outstanding.
