(NCTC) FOUNDATION LEVEL BADMINTON COACHING COURSE

Monday 28th March - 10:00am-4:30pm

 in the Beara Sports Hall

Tutor : Ron Thomas (from Carrigaline)

This course is designed for those who are working with children in badminton as well as for those who wish to start on the badminton coaching ladder who haven’t a lot/any experience of the game – no previous badminton knowledge is required.

It consists of fun games which are designed to improve co-ordination as well as an introduction to some of the basic badminton strokes.  Participants will also gain knowledge on how to organise and deal with groups in a badminton setting in a fun, safe and simple way.

The course takes 6 hours to complete and there is no exam –participants will receive an attendance certificate and the majority of the course has a practical base.  It is suitable for teachers, parents, youth leaders, junior club organisers as well as those dealing with beginners of all ages.  (Participants must be over 16 yrs).  The certificate allows participants to assist in coaching sessions.  The course will be followed by a 1 hr "Club Development" Workshop by Brenda Barry, Dev Officer, BUI.
