Pat O'Sullivan (Giles) Celebrates his 90th Birthday

A very enjoyable afternoon was held in Twomey’s Bar, Castletownbere recently to celebrate the 90th birthday of Pat (Giles) O’Sullivan, Disert, Castletownbere. Pat’s relatives joined in the celebrations as well as many friends and neighbours from many parts of Beara. A wide selection of very appetising refreshments were served and Pat cut his cake while his guests sang “Happy Birthday”. This was followed by a very enjoyable evening and Pat recalled how things changed for the better since he was a youngster. Pat is well known in the area for his great memory and has great stories of how things were in the past especially anything pertaining to the sea and fishing. He also has great knowledge of the last two world wars. He also has a great knowledge of local history and is always willing to help and answer questions. We join with his many friends in wishing Pat continued good health and many more birthday celebrations.
